What: Join Kathy for a day of Out of Line. This is a return to a popular class Kathy taught in 2013 as a monthly class and it now returns for a one-day workshop.
Experiment with free cut techniques (no rulers-no rules!) and interpretive skills to themed topics including: Face It – make a representational face, City Scape – Make a town village or landscape of your choice, or make a still life.

Ready to improve the accuracy of your patchwork and go back to basics?
In this one day workshop, Catherine will take you through the basics of cutting, pinning and sewing to ensure the perfect results for which Catherine is renowned.
Focus will also be given to understanding how fabric works- ever wanted to understand the warp and weft and how to get the benefit of it- well this is the workshop.
Suited for: Beginner as well as a more experienced piecer

Join Deborah Louie for a three day workshop (over three months) to learn everything you ever wanted to know about machine quilting on a domestic sewing machine.
Suited for: Beginner to machine quilters wanting to improve their skills.
In summary, the workshops will cover:
Day 1 – working with the walking foot, including all aspects of quilt preparation, how to stitch in the ditch perfectly and decorative and hand quilting stitching looks with the walking foot.
Day 2 - Free Motion Quilting, including learning control of the free motion technique and designs such as quilt swirls, flowers, stars, geometric straight patterns, spirals, pebbles, bricks and great textures.
Day 3 - Free Motion Quilting, including stencils and feathers quilting.
Suited for: Beginners to machine quilters wanting to improve their skills
Requirements: Your domestic sewing machine. While we have some sewing machines available in our classroom, we recommend you learn to machine quilt on your own sewing machine.

What: Join Wendy for a day exploring the possibilities of the Birdsville Quilt and Cushion.
The quilt combines machine piecing and wool applique while the cushion focuses on wool applique.
Wendy will guide you on the way to making your own creation based on her Birdsville designs.
Suited for: Beginners and beyond.
Requirements: A detailed requirements list will be provided on booking into the workshop.

When: Friday 27 November
Join Marg George for a one day workshop working with hexagons.
Marg will take you through drafting a hexagon and its counterparts of baby’s blocks and 6-pointed stars and then look at ways to alter or add to those shapes and how to fussy-cut to get the maximum impact from your fabric.
You will also look at designs for borders and solutions for corners…always a challenge with a 6-sided shape.
Suited for: Admirers of English paper piecing
Requirements: Range of your favourite fabrics; papers will be available for purchase on the day.

Prints Charming has evolved over the years and now Cath is taking it forward with her stunning colour combinations and imaginative screen printing – combined with colourful and detailed hand embroidery.
The workshop is about exploring embroidery through texture and colour. Traditional stitches are taught and then interpreted in a modern sense.From the linen sampler that you create you can transfer your knowledge to a handprinted panel. A choice of two panels (50cm on linen), the bird and the kaleidoscope are available.
Cost: $80 plus the cost of the hand printed panel

1 Non-refundable deposit (equal to half the workshop fee) required at the time of booking.
2 Balance payable on first day of workshop.
3 Places in workshop are non-refundable (unless we cancel) but you can transfer your place to a friend if life intervenes and you cannot make it on the day.
